Hi

does someone tried android x86 as domU?
Are there somewhere up2date infos how to do it?

Hi Christoph,

You can find what you look for at:

https://osdn.net/projects/android-x86

I use a virtual tablet with android 4.4 (installed from
android-x86-4.4-r5.iso) for debugging purposes. It works reasonably
well. Just install like any domU under Xen.

The contents of  the xl.conf file, see below.

some questions:

is android x86 pv capable?
it is possible to run an arm version of android on xen x86_64? (I
suspect no)

Hi,

Never tried, but theoretically I don't see why it shouldn't work. But
there will most probably be a bunch of problems with USB-connections,
serial ports, and similar. The performance on my machine (AMD FX-8370
eight-core), using 2 cores for the domU, is a trifle faster than a live
tablet.

You're absolutely right about ARM. In that case I recommend QEMU. If you
have got plenty of time...
