Set up Question
I'm trying to set up a SPF record for the buisness I'm with because I have alot of emails that are coming back DNS. the website which I am an affiliate is as follows. findyourtraffic.com/739086/traleo.info When I send out email, I use another program to send email out through Mozilla Thunderbird to access my gmail account. Since so many emails that were sent out bounced back (DNS) I can't even respond to clients that have emailed me. Do I set up a SPF record thouugh my business website out through my gmail and yahoo account?

==========================================================
Explanation of the possible results (adapted from
draft-kucherawy-sender-auth-header-04.txt):
==========================================================

"pass"
the message passed the authentication test.

"fail"
the message failed the authentication test.

"softfail"
the message failed the authentication test, and the authentication
method has either an explicit or implicit policy which doesn't require
successful authentication of all messages from that domain.

"neutral"
the authentication method completed without errors, but was unable
to reach either a positive or a negative result about the message.

"temperror"
a temporary (recoverable) error occurred attempting to authenticate
the sender; either the process couldn't be completed locally, or
there was a temporary failure retrieving data required for the
authentication. A later retry may produce a more final result.

"permerror"
a permanent (unrecoverable) error occurred attempting to
authenticate the sender; either the process couldn't be completed
locally, or there was a permanent failure retrieving data required
for the authentication.

Ok, so GMail's SPF record is ok ;)

Nothing to do with SPF - probably a mail routing error somewhere.

In summary, nothing you've posted shows that there is any SPF related
problem, which is the point of this list. The problems you've posted
appear unrelated - one remote MTA is mis-configured, and one is
rejecting your email as spam. I suggest you discuss any problems
sending with your @gmail.com address with Google as they'll be the
only ones that can help.

Thank you for you assistance. Does the owner of the company need to establish a SPF record as well? If so, would that SPF record be automatically linked to me and the other affiliates. Last question, how do I set up a DKIM record as well? Thank you for your support.

Which company, for what reason? Creating an SPF record is IMO a good
idea, but nobody "needs" to do it.

What do you mean by this? Can you post an error message?

If you set up both DomainKeys and DKIM (which are different;
Yahoo! uses the former) be aware that whichever one you have insert its
header second will have to ignore the first. E.g., if you have the
DomainKeys program run first and then have DKIM add a header, it will of
course modify the message headers, breaking the DomainKeys "seal."
There are ways to not protect headers, for example, have DomainKeys
ignore the DKIM header. A DomainKeys or DKIM list should be able to
help you with that.

An SPF record helps prevent other people from using a domain to
send e-mail. If they want to protect their domain or are getting a lot
of bounce backs from spam runs using their domain then an SPF record
would help with that.
