Add vfiler0 to a Domain
Toasters,

I have a 7-mode system that hosts a number of non-default-vfilers.
Several non-default-vfilers have been added to an Active Directory
domain. vfiler0, however, is not a member of the domain on either
controller.

I have a new Fiber Channel client that is going to utilize this 7-mode
system. This client plans to use a SnapManager product that would
benefit from vfiler0 being added to the domain.

Will adding vfiler0 to the domain (cifs setup) affect the
configuration of any of the existing vfilers?

Thanks,
-Phil

It should not. As far as domains are concerned, each vfiler is its own
machine.

Nope, this is the exact use case for vfilers - creating virtualized filers to do multiple things.

I will say that clustered Data ONTAP is an even better option for doing this sort of thing. ;)
