can't change the channel
I looked through the archives and I've seen similar issues but I haven't
found a solution there. Up until recently I was able to change the
channel in myth without a problem but now I can't change the channel.
I'm using a pvr 250 and ptune.pl changes the channel just fine.

When I try to change the channel the it pauses for a moment like it's
trying to change the channel, then it resumes. When the OSD comes up
there is no program info. I went into the program guide and it appears
to be correctly populated.

My system is mandrake 9.1 with ivtv with myth 14 and ivtv 1.9. Below is
the error output from when I tried to change the channel 3 times:

Input #0, mpeg, from
'rbuf://127.0.0.1:6543/var/myth/buffer/ringbuf1.nuv':
Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg2video, 720x480, 29.97 fps
Stream #0.1: Audio: mp2, 48000 Hz, stereo, 384 kb/s

the "QDateTime::fromString: Parameter out of range" error seems to
happen twice each time I attempt to change the channel.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Thanks,

-Chuck

I've had this same problem a few times. Usually happens if my myth box
loses internet connectivity for a little while. To fix it, I run
mythsetup, tell it to dump the channel info, re-configure my tuner
information then run mythfilldatabase. You could try just running
mythfilldatabase by itself.

Re: can't change the channel [ In reply to ]
Ok, I've tried this. I even dumped my mythconverge DB and started
over. still no luck with changing channels. I turned on verbose -all
and saw that mythfrontend is outputting the following lines several time
each time I try to change the channel:

2004-03-27 15:11:55 waiting for prebuffer...
2004-03-27 15:11:55 prebuffer wait timed out..
2004-03-27 15:11:55 waiting for prebuffer...
2004-03-27 15:11:55 prebuffer wait timed out..
2004-03-27 15:11:55 waiting for prebuffer...
2004-03-27 15:11:55 prebuffer wait timed out..

There are probably about 100 iterations for each attempted channel
change. Does anyone have any further pointers on what I should check
here?

Thanks,

-Chuck

Re: can't change the channel [ In reply to ]
Did you ever resolve this? I'm still running into the same problem.

Specs:
Athlon 2800+
Asus nForce2 based mboard
WinTV PVR250 x 2 (rev1) - Philips NTSC (tuner type=2 -- this worked
before)
Myth 0.15
ivtv (tried 0.9.x and 0.10.0 -- no difference)
Kernel 2.4.25
Mandrake 10.0 (Community)

I'm at wit's end.. i've spent about a month on the issue (different
kernels, modules, versions of mythtv, etc.), without luck. The symptoms
are what's being seen below.

Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Aaron
