Mythbuntu... gone?
I haven't been able to get to mythbuntu for about 3 days now (and this
weekend I was rebuilding my mythbox with a shiny new
motherboard/cpu!!!). Is this known by Mario/etc, and if so, any
expected time of return?

I'm LOVING the weekly -fixes, the work is greatly appreciated.

Bill,

I've been out of town all weekend, and just got word of things being down.
I'll have to contact the web hosting on Monday to find out what's up.
Hopefully things are back up and running in the near future :)

I notice mythbuntu.org is still down. I've really enjoyed having
access to the -fixes branch in *.deb format. I hope the problem is
nothing major.

Not been working for me over the past few days also. I hope it has
not gone for ever as it was great having the weekly builds.

Same here. I was hoping to try it out as my self installed MythTV is
playing up at the moment doing weird things, but the MythBuntu site has
been in "time out" mode for a couple of days now.

I got a hold of our hosting provider briefly only to get the response,
that he is "working" on it. Sorry guys no ETA atm, but things will be
up eventually again. I'll announce here again when they are.

Do you want to channel the bits through atrpms.net in the interim? You
already have a suitable account there,
e.g. people.atrpms.net/~mlimonciello is already working. It may sound
awkward for an rpmsomething domain to serve deb content, but hey,
we're all swimming in the same fish bowl after all. :)

Just a quick post to say I hope you will be back up soon.

I'm hoping for something soon as well. I'm in desperate need of Ubuntu
packages!

What? These packages aren't mirrored some place else?

No, 0.20 weekly fixes from MythTV SVN were actually built on the server,
we are not certain why it has gone down - but have desperately been
trying to chase it.

Does anyone have a copy of the latest built packages that we can
distribute somewhere until the build server is back available? I have
SOME of the x86 ones, and need the x64 ones (will trade!).

Okay guys, the web hosting thing is still a mess, but here is where things
are going to go for now:

Ubuntu PPA's:

Add this to your sources.list

deb http://ppa.dogfood.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/ubuntu feisty main restricted
> universe multiverse
>

The PPA's are in beta right now, so only select launchpad users have access
to queueing things up on them, but anyone can grab from them.

They go live (out of beta) next week. The production URL will likely be

> deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/ubuntu feisty main restricted
> universe multiverse

We'll have a blurb on the site describing this (when it eventually gets
back to life).

PS: PPA's have AMD64 builds too :)

Thanks for getting this back available for us mario! Where can we get
the pubkey for these packages?

During the beta, I don't believe that PPA's sign the packages. Whether this
happens after the beta too, I'm not sure. If it is the case they aren't
signed, then I'll set up my account on atrpms to rsync from launchpad and
sign them in a daily cron. The irony of possibly hosting debian/ubuntu
packages on atrpms :)

The website is back up, but like I said, packages won't be stored there.
The host doesn't have the bandwidth necessary to undertake that.

So if you haven't already, remove any references to mythbuntu.org for
the package repository. As soon as I know whether things will be signed
on Canonical's PPA system, I'll announce the final URL that they will
end up at.

Does this mean that Canonical will be hosting it?

Good to have the weekly builds backs, thanks.

Yes, these are hosted on a canonical server right now.

As soon as the PPA's are public, I'll announce the permanent URL.
