My ~/.cvsrc:
Q> cvs -z2 -q
Q> diff -u3 -p
Q> update -dP
Q> checkout -P

It works for me right now.
Can you check if the problem persists at your end?

You might want to try without "-q" and with "-t" to
get more verbose messages.

Thanks, works again. I used the bash-history, so I'm sure that I have entered
the exact same commands. Now it magically started working yesterday. The day
before yesterday, it didn't (maybe cvs doesn't work on Sundays ;-)
