Invalid information element contents
Hi,

I am configuring a H323 GW with CUCM6.x to be dialed out via ISDN BRI. I can sucessfully receive the calls, but when calls are being dialled out, the calls are not being sent out. The ISDN Q931 debug shows as follows. Can anyone sggest what may be the issue?
-----------------------------------
ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: Applying typeplan for sw-type 0x1 is 0x0 0x0, Calling num 93111501
ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: Sending SETUP callref = 0x001F callID = 0x8027 switch = basic-net3 interface = User
ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: TX -> SETUP pd = 8 callref = 0x1F
Bearer Capability i = 0x8090A2
Standard = CCITT
Transfer Capability = Speech
Transfer Mode = Circuit
Transfer Rate = 64 kbit/s
Channel ID i = 0x81
Preferred, B1
Calling Party Number i = 0x0081, '93111501'
Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown
Called Party Number i = 0x80, '0414602914'
Plan:Unknown, Type:Unknown
Sending Complete
ISDN BR0/0/0 Q931: RX <- RELEASE_COMP pd = 8 callref = 0x9F
Cause i = 0x82E404 - Invalid information element contents
----------------------------------------
Thanks in advance.

There bearer cap is a bit odd, 0x8090A1 is more common.
you might try forcing the bearercap:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a0080874155.shtml

otherwise the calling party plan/type of unknown/unknown is
suspicious. many carriers do not like those. Either remove calling
party or step through the permutations of national/isdn/... Along
those same lines you typically need to provide full 10 digit cgpn out
to carrier.

It could be the specific channel id, not all isdn protocols allow
specific channel request at setup.

The issue was fixed. I think Wes is spot on. it wa sthe outgoing codec setting on the voice port. by default the compand-type is ulaw and this ned to be set to alaw for the carrier for basic-net3 switch types.

Thanks guys for the help.

Cheers,
Shine
